World Heart Day Stay Super Beat Diabetes

Diabetes is a disease that effects over 420 million people worldwide.The World Health Organization is calling for increased global efforts to stop its rise, and enhace the care for those suffering with diabetes.World Health Day 2016 focused on raising awareness of diabetes, and improving both the prevention and treatrment of the disease.The World Health Organization intends to hightlight the need for the greater attention to be paid on the effects of diabetes on individuals, families, the community and the healthcare system.Stay super, Beat Diabetes, the awareness campaign, focused on halting the rise of the rise of diabetes by promoting healthy eating habits, avoiding obesity and getting regular medical check-ups.KPJ Tawakkal Specialist Hospital played their own role in this campaign by organising a programme of the same name.The KPJ Stay Super, Beat Diabetes programme included activities such as the 'Tai Chi Kick Start', a health screening and dental check-up, a healthy cooking demonstration, and even superhero appearances.
